The International Journal of Pharmacy and Allied Fields (IJPAF) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in research involving human participants. Authors are required to obtain written informed consent from all individuals participating in their studies, including parental or guardian consent for minors under the age of 16 and ethical and legal approval must be secured from a recognized institutional ethics committee or review board. Author must include this consent in the manuscript prior to submission. The manuscript must clearly state the name of the approving body, the date of approval, and the reference or approval number. If a study has been granted an exemption from ethical approval, this must also be stated in the manuscript, along with the name of the body that issued the exemption. All relevant documentation must be retained and made available to the editorial board upon request.
Manuscripts submitted without valid ethics approval, where necessary, will not undergo peer review and will be rejected. The editorial board may, under specific conditions, consider alternative actions.
Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of participants is essential. Authors must avoid including identifying details such as names, images, videos, or clinical information that could compromise a participant’s privacy. If identifiable information must be published, authors must explain the purpose to the participant and obtain explicit written consent for publication. If all identifying details are removed and the individual cannot be recognized, informed consent for publication is not mandatory. In cases where a participant has died, it is the author's responsibility to obtain consent for publication from the deceased’s legal next of kin or representative.
Eventually, it is the responsibility of the author to ensure that all ethical approvals, informed consents, and related statements are appropriately included in the manuscript prior to submission. The editorial board reserves the right to reject any manuscript on ethical grounds or request additional clarification or documentation if necessary. Manuscripts that fail to comply with the journal's ethical policies may be rejected or retracted even after publication.
The International Journal of Pharmacy and Allied Fields (IJPAF) requires all the research that involves Human and Animals to be performed in accordance with the Helsinki’s ethical framework and comply with relevant national and institutional guidelines. Prior approval must be obtained from an appropriately constituted ethics committee or institutional review board, and this approval must be clearly stated in the manuscript, along with the committee’s name and reference number. Participants or patients involved in the research must be fully informed about the nature and purpose of the research and must give voluntary, written informed consent before any data is collected. For studies involving human organs or tissues, authors must include a clear statement that all biological materials were obtained from approved and legal sources, and that no illegal procurement occurred. Authors must ensure that this information is transparent and verifiable.
Research involving animals must be conducted in accordance with internationally accepted principles for the care and use of laboratory animals, such as those provided by the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUC), or equivalent bodies. Authors must include a clear statement in the manuscript that all experimental procedures were reviewed and approved by the appropriate institutional animal ethics committee. They must also affirm that animals were treated humanely and that every effort was made to minimize pain, suffering, and distress.
IJPAF does not support or publish research that involves unethical treatment of human or animal subjects. If there is any indication that the rights, dignity, or welfare of human or animal subjects have been violated, the manuscript will be rejected on ethical grounds. The editorial board also reserves the right to request additional documentation, including copies of ethics committee approvals or animal use protocols. Failure to comply with these standards may result in the rejection or retraction of the article.
